this picture looks like a little girl working at some kind of factory. she looks kind of tired and lonesome. it also looks like she maybe taking notes. i can almost barely see what shes holding but i think its a clipboard. i think this picture makes the point of how young kids have to work.
This picture is very tasteful. The angle reminds me of a scene from The Matrix. That aside, the position is well chosen and the picture well timed. My only complaint is with the person in the background. They distract from the focus and lower the quality of the picture tremendously as a result of their position. This picture would be more interesting given several minor changes to the settime but it is my belief that such changes were against the purposes of the photographer, and likely impossible at the time.
This picture is very cool. The light streaming through the windows and hitting the lady in the factory is a very cool way to light the area. though I can't really tell what's in front of the women, I think it's a machine.
that's a lot of milk. (is it milk? it looks like milk.) it's most likely a distillery, but i wonder if it's on the farm, or if it's in a completely seperate area. i agree with david on the person in the back.
I agree with Jennifer that this picture shows child labor. Maybe this photograpgh help open people's eyes about how cruel child labor is. I think the girl is working at a milk factory trying to make a little money. Also it makes me think what made her work? Are her parents forcing her or are they in serious need of money? Overall, I think this pirture must have impacted Americans when it was published.
